Mold protection

Start before growth appears.

Factory treatment helps inhibit mold growth on the treated lumber through the documented construction and service conditions.

Protect the wood. Manage the moisture.

Construction exposes a frame to changing weather before the building is dried in. Mold-growth inhibition is one part of protecting that material; it works alongside covered storage, drainage and prompt drying.

  • Store lumber off the ground and under a protective cover.
  • Keep water from collecting and document the dry-in date.
  • Address leaks and moisture sources throughout the building’s life.
What supports the protection?

The product evaluations document mold-growth-inhibition testing on treated wood using ASTM D3273 and ASTM D5590. Testing conditions and eligible substrates matter; a laboratory result is not a promise that a building will never develop mold.

What are the limits?

Wood-treatment coverage is not a whole-house mold guarantee or a health warranty. Untreated surfaces, leaks and conditions outside the written terms remain separate responsibilities.

How do warranties fit in?

Coverage depends on the selected treatment, eligible wood, project records and complete written terms. A warranty is a defined remedy, not a promise that damage can never happen.
